Not to ride you to hard, but this is why dust has so many problems. Lack of attention choose a date format. There's no date mix-up. We ran a database check, according to which the first player-created DUST 514 characters were born on the 26th of June, 2012. - there are accounts older than that, but an account is not a character. And if there's still something wrong, the search borked. My first characters were born slightly later, on the 3rd of July. That's probably the day of the mass character deletion/reset to sync the Eve and Dust player name back ends. Which yes, is a pretty good answer to the thread title question. There were people playing a good bit before then, though. I got in back in May, and I think there were a few "lottery winners" who got in maybe a month or two earlier by random selection through the PSN. First wave of players were those who attend on EVE FanFest 2012(they got free invitation for buying tickets), and that was one month before CCP started randomly send invites to EVE players that wanted to participate in Beta tests and had consoles. I remember that at beginnings server were only online during the weekends. So I downloaded Dust on Sunday night and created character week later :).
Beside that we were playing on Skirmish 1.0 with Biomased Outpost, and biggest problem was with Swarm Launchers with was at the time dumbfire misiles weapon that were able to kill four guys standing in front of shooter(all in a row) with 1-2 waves, of curse you have to be at distant of 4 meters from them so damage could split properly, but any way it was so annoying weapon. Funny thing I had something like 11-15 DC per hour, but it is not so important compare to SL :].
On next month we had E3 build that implemented some changes to Swarms with help a lot. That was Skirmish 2.0 but defenders had already all null-cannons(not XL missiles). Since that point PSN+ players were able to play Beta, and it was beginning of the end :P all further waves of players had generally really poor opinion about Dust, and IMO they have caused more losses than profits. I do not remember when did we move from Duality(?) to Singularity I think it had something to do with appearing player driven corporations. That could be that date.
